Judson's Recent Art

Judson has been taking Art from Mrs. Julie for about 3 months. His talent has improved quite a bit in that short time. Well worth the money! Here are his semester projects:

I don't know what this technique is called. It is where you take a pin and scratch off the surface to "draw". It looks pretty cool!

This one looks even better in person. I love all of the detail in the feathers.

AMAZING is all I have to say about this one. I think we are going to enter this one in the Strawberry Days art competition.

Carma at her first Pioneer day.

Carma's School had Pioneer day and they encouraged them to dress like a pioneer. The day before I decided to make her a bonnet and skirt. Thank you Ronna for saving me.. Wyatt's Twin

Trish's son Clayton and Wyatt could be twins.  The first time I saw him I was shocked at how much they looked alike. I had always said that her girls could be mine b/c they looked like my baby pictures. 

They are so cute together! Trish said that Clayton asked if he could live with us. She said "Well, I am your mommy and I would miss you." He said "I will tell her that you are still my mommy but I still want to live there."  Pretty funny. It is probably b/c I let them eat popcorn and make a mess in my living room.

Judson's Shoshone Indian Presentation

(Caption on page reads) Judson gave a presentation on the Shoshone Indians in for his forth grade, end of the year project. Judson chose to do a bean mosaic for his project. He also had to give an oral report.
 Can I tell you how miserable he is when he is asked to talk in front of people?  However, he did a fantastic job.

If you notice, Wyatt joined Judson during the middle of the presentation to help him out a bit.  He was jabbering about the Lego magazine and distracting the other kids (not to mention Judson)  and caused a little bit of giggling. I tried to get Wyatt to come sit down, but the screaming it caused was even more of a distraction.

Our Arizona Trip

This was the coolest natural landscape I have seen. It looked like aliens dropped them off.  Jesus must have had fun creating this part of the country with all of its colors and rocks. 

Can Wyatt make any more of a mess with a marshmallow? You can't even see how messy it is. It was ALL over. Marshmallows now banned from road trips. 

Last month we went to visit Nonnie... we started out our 14 1/2 hour drive. It was actually a beautiful and scenic drive. Some of it bordered the Grand Canyon. We stopped at Cliff Dwellers ...(not the cool place that Michael remembered as a child, but these cool rocks. We did stop at the acutal cliff dwellers, but it looked too steep for Wyatt to hike and I was dumb and only brought my flip flops. Maybe next time.) Anyway, it was such a nice drive and we had fun even just driving. I couldn't believe how cold Arizona was in April! I packed for summer thinking it would be super hot, I was freezing half the time.

The rocks in this picture are some of the coolest natural landscape I have seen. It was such a great photo backdrop and the kids loved it, but it was so windy and cold we couldn't stay as long as they would have liked.

Can I just tell you how much my kids LOOOOVVVEE Aunt Nonnie? And here is just one of the reasons why... She plays with them. She is a kid herself and loves video games (something I don't). I love how special Nonnie makes my kids feel, I am so grateful to have her as a sister and an aunt to my kiddies.

Ok, so this picture of the girls was taken at their house, but obviously not on big pea pod or cabbage. It looks kind of funny, but they are too cute in it. I have fun doing this page.

We got to Nonnies on a Sunday and stayed until Wed afternoon. Too short of a visit, but Michael was getting too stir crazy. The babies are too sweet and getting so fun. I was shocked at how much they have grown in just 2 short months. Makenna is even getting rolls on her thigh. The funniest thing about them, especally Makenna is that she will continue to stare at you when you look away and when you look at her again she smiles SO big, like she got what she wanted. It is THE CUTEST! My heart just melts thinking about those cuties.

Carma and Juddy were in HEAVEN being with Nonnie, the spare minutes she could pay undivided attention is now limited, but they don't care and treasure whatever they can get. It is so cute. We played Rock Band and Cooties. The babies make it limited of what we can do now.

Our Artist

Judson loves to draw. That is what he has been spending most of his time doing the past 3 months. He goes through fazes with things, so I hope this one last because I think he is really talented. I also believe that art is good way of expressing oneself, and where Judson isn't a "man of many words" I think he needs as many ways of expressing himself as possible.

Here is a scrapbook page I did to exhibit his art work. He actually ALLOWED me to photograph him drawing.
When I posted it on Facebook I got so many responses, I told him how many and he jokingly said "I am FAMOUS! I KNEW I would be famous someday!"

It was so fun to do this shoot with the twins, hard, but fun. Makenna didn't want to cooperate, so these pictures are both of Avery.  I used the "Do you believe in Magic" by Starlight Designs on Shabbypickles.com.

I saw the page of a baby on a mushroom and I had to try to recreate it. I did close, not as good, but pretty darn close. It is SO fun to scrapbook the babies.. esp sleeping poses.
They are so Cute. Dana is just the most beautiful mother I have ever seen. It makes me teary eyed just thinking about how amazing she is and how happy she is. I have never seen her this happy... and to be as tired as she is and this happy is pretty incredible.

Carma lost her First tooth!

While driving up to see Dana 2 weekends ago Carma said "MOM!" I look back and she is missing a tooth. She was kind of scared. I said "Where is it?" She said she didn't know. We stopped at a gas station and looked all over for it. We came to the conclusion that she may have swallowed it. She was sad b/c she thought that the tooth fairy wouldn't come if she lost it.
So we wrote a note to the tooth fairy explaining the situation.
The Tooth Fairy left $2.00 and a note written out of glitter (nice touch if if I do say so myself..hehe) telling her to take keep taking good care of her teeth.

I got to drive up and see the babies again. I wish they were closer b/c once I get there I don't want to leave. It was so great to hang out with Dana, hold the babies and just feel the peace that they radiate. I really needed it! I felt rejuvenated! I can't wait to see them again. I wish Michael could hold them, he is just going to melt. Dana let me hold them at the same time. awwwwwww It was just heaven! I hope I don't have to wait too long before I can go visit them once they get home. I can't say it enough, I am just so happy to see Dana as a mommy! It is just a miracle!

Puppy Love Tiff

Carma and Silas got in a little tiff last week and he didn't want to talk to her for 2 days. I said "maybe he is going through the dumb boy stage where he doesn't like girls. She said "but he smiled at Jilian and asked her to sit by him." I thought, OH NO! She is jealous already and he is already being a "Player".

Carma brought me to phone on Friday and said "Call his mom". hahaha She made me call her and I found out the real story which is that Carma was bugging Carma for not keeping the rules. She is NOT a rule keeper and she cut in line, talks to much in class and doesn't pick up her things. Apparently he is MR. rule keeper and it really ticked him off. He came home crying and upset because he got in trouble for yelling at her. He was upset that he was mad at her too. awwww.

We worked it out, he called and apologized, he came over and now they are friends again. PFEWW... because my heart couldn't take her heartache. (codependency anyone?) It was too sad to see her so upset. She talked about it for HOURS!! and cried several times.
What am I going to do when he really DOES go through that stupid boy stage?

I had the teacher move her to a different desk so she can get to know some of the other girls better. I also told Carma that we should invite some of the girls over for a play date.

Dana's Baby Shower

Nikki and I have waited 11 years to throw this shower! It finally came and it was so fun to do! Dana said I went a little crazy, but I loved it (and when it comes to food and parties I always go overboard).

We had so much fun. Dana is so happy and it makes me happy to see her this happy. This was her third shower (brat.. hehe). Can you tell that how many people love her and have waited for this as well. She got pretty hooked up, and rightly so. They are going to need it! I cant even imagine how much money it is going to take for the formula and diaper bill alone.

It was so fun to see all the former Louisianian's here. There were around 35 people. I made 64 cupcakes (one for the shower and one for everyone to take home) and all I had were 6 left over.
I was so pleased with the way the cupcakes turned out and they tasted so good too.. if I can say so myself. I made chocolate nutella with creamy nutella filling, poppy seed almond with vanilla filling and almond icing, pina colada with creamy coconut filling, and my favorite was the Rasperry cream filled with cream cheese icing. Ellie and Jamie were sweet enough to come early and help. I would have gone insane if they had shown up 10 mins later! I always come close to losing my mind about 2 hours before hosting a big party. But then it is all worth it and everyone has fun. Eating good food with great friends is heaven on earth.
